Truck Drivers Speak Out about Risks along the Highlands Highway

Highway truck drivers tasked with taking cargo into the highlands have spoken out about the experience saying the personal risks of the job have risen significantly over the last 20 years.

During every trip, drivers are faced with the possibility of armed hold-ups, roadblocks and compensation demands even when they stop to change a flat tyre.

Bad road conditions have also increase the risk of attacks when a truck is involved in an accident.
