Tongamp Joins People’s Party

With days to go before the issue of writs for the 2017 Nation Elections, Governor of Jiwaka Province, Dr William Tongamp, has joined People’s Party, led by Grand Chief Sir Peter Ipatas.

Dr Tongamp made the announcement today in Port Moresby. He says that he made the move because he believes in the party’s policies, especially free education.

Party leader, Sir Peter Ipatas, welcomed Dr Tongamp to his party which stands at a total of 30 candidates. Six of them are current members of parliament.

Dr Tongamp’s announcement to join People’s Party comes days before the issue of writs for the 2017 National Elections.

Dr Tongamp was a former member of the New Generation party, under Goroka MP Bire Kimisopa.
