TIPNG On Politics

Transparency International PNG is calling for all constitutional office holders to maintain the independence of their offices and to discharge their responsibilities in upholding and enforcing the law, without fear or favor.

Recently disbanded Investigation Task Force Sweep was initially established in 2011 by the NEC and the initiative was spearheaded by the Prime Minister Peter O’Neil to explore grand corruption. As a consequence, senior lawyers, public officials and senior politicians were implicated in numerous results from their findings, which also included Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill himself.

TIPNG says that the current political and public service changes has brought the attention of the country, to look at constitutional and law enforcing agencies for integrity in decision making.

To consider a community response to these concerns, TIPNG is inviting members of the Community Coalition Against Corruption (CCAC) to convene at IPA Haus, 2nd Level at Konedobu in Port Moresby on Monday 23rd June 2014 at 12pm…
