Tigers Tame Isapeas

In the Digicel cup played in Lae yesterday, the Gulf Isapeas went down to Lae Snax Tigers 24 points to 12.

In a hard fought encounter, the Tigers with a strong performance in the first half managed to register more winning points. The Lae boys will play host to Goroka Lahanis this weekend while the Isapeas travels to Kokopo for round two.

The Isapeas on the other hand have been struggling this season, some crucial defeats with marginalized scores never let them down. In yesterday's game, Tigers dominated the first half scoring 4 converted tries to lead 24 points to 6 at half time.

Isapeas returned from the break with high spirit that forced the Tigers to have a good number of ball handling errors. Isapeas then scored a centre try with a successful conversion for them to trail 24 points to 12.

Tigers maintained a strong defense until fulltime to win the game with 24 points to 12. Lae Snax Tigers will meet Goroka Lahanis in Lae this weekend, while the Gulf Isapeas travel to Kokopo to meet the Gurias.
