Task Force to Investigate Unauthorised Selection Results Published on Social Media

By Staycey Yalo, EMTV News, Port Moresby

A Task Force has been set up by the Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology (DHERST) to investigate unauthorized results of the selection on social media, prior to its official release.

DHERST Secretary says although the information leaked out, this did not have any impact on the actual selection; the Department will not take the matter lightly.

Two days after the official grade 12 selection began; raw results containing marks of students from certain schools had leaked onto Facebook.

According to DHERST, the selection-results were not influenced by this. However, DHERST is hoping to not have the same mistake again.

The PDF files of selection marks are to be done away to avoid such practice again.

Meanwhile, Fr Jan says, School Leaver Forms will be updated next year, in consultation with Department of Education, to meet Higher Education standards. He said the current SLF forms are out-dated and do not meet DHERST’s standards.
