SP Hunters team continues to form, after third week of intensive training

Thirty three players remain in the SP Hunters pre-season train on squad after Week 3 of intensive training at the National Sports Institute in Goroka.

SP Hunters Coach, Michael Marum, added two academy players with Joseph Mocke and Thompson Yakumbu.

The two players join team mates, Aidan Arusa, and Muka Peter Kula, from the Southern Academy, when the Hunters pre-season training resumes in Port Moresby next week.

Nine players have been released after the Goroka camp. They are, Andrew Ipi, Benjamin Hetra, Joe Frank, John Grand Arime, Mafu Kalas, Nixon Borana, Philemon Kimisive, Tau Fitzgerald and William Mone.

Marum adds that the players will return to their Intercity Cup teams and like the others, can make their way back into the Hunters team depending on their performances.

The 33-man squad will go into camp, in Port Moresby, on January 3, 2017, with familiar faces like Adex Wera, Ase Boas, Bland Abavu, Wartovo Puara, Enoch Maki, Esau Siune, and more.

The Albert brothers have made the 33-man squad with former captain, Israel Eliab.

Willie Minoga from the Townsville Blackhawks has also made it into the squad.

A 27 or 28 man squad will be finalised in the next two weeks to take part in the 2017 Queensland Intrust Super Cup competition.
