Sir Paulias: Parents Concern on Education Correct

Former Governor General of PNG Sir PauliasMatane says the concern by parents in the drop in the standard of education is correct.

He says the standard today is much lower compared to his time. Although back then by grade 9, the level of education was much higher.

He says the problem now, has nothing to do with the philosophy of teaching it lies with teachers.  Adding most teachers lack commitment and don't work hard enough.

Be believes teachers like most public servants have become “self-servants”.

He is supporting the Minister for Public Service Sir Puka Temu on his stance to get rid of un-productive public servants.
