Safety Focus for Newcrest in 2017

Share the News

With the challenges that mining companies face in their day-to-day operations, safety plays the most crucial role in ensuring that staff do not get hurt.

As part of National Mine Safety Week 2017, Newcrest has partnered with International SOS to conduct refresher safety training for its stakeholders.

Participants yesterday morning went through basic responses to various dangers, including medical emergencies.

According to International SOS Workplace Trainer, Jon Arua, these basic skillsets are the most crucial in any medical emergency that may occur within high pressure environments, such as that of a mine site.

The refresher course culminates with Team Building activity on Wednesday.
