By Serahlyne Tambui (DWU Journalism Trainee)

The sudden passing of Deputy Speaker and Member for South Fly, Late Aide Ganasi has shocked the nation by losing a great leader.

Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill and Members of the National Parliament joined with the family of Late Hon. Ganasi to bid farewell his passing at Rita Flynn Indoor Complex in Port Moresby yesterday.

The Prime Minister applauded the good work of the Late Deputy Speaker and promised to continue his work in the South Fly District.

“In his capacity as the South Fly Member of Parliament, and despite being a first-time MP, he served his people and envisioned the development of his electorate, province and Papua New Guinea as a whole,” PM O’Neill said.

“He served his people well with honour and dignity and strived to deliver the basic service through District Services Improvement Program funding.”

Attending the funeral service were Senior Cabinet Ministers and the Opposition Leader.
