Power Restored

Electricity was restored in Port Moresby as of 5pm this afternoon after the PNG Power board and management addressed the workers.

Rouna Power Plant in Port Moresby was shut down this morning together with Lae and other centers.

After a whole day of shut down, the workers were address in the afternoon by those in authority.

At 4pm this afternoon disgruntled PNG Power workers in Port Moresby were addressed by the yet to be sworn in PNG Power Board Chairman, Larry Andagali.

The chairman’s address gave them some relief to the workers who then turned on the power at Rouna Power Plant.

Mr. Andagali received a copy of the workers petition and promised to address the staff tomorrow.

The workers also received assurance from the management that their demands in the petition will be addressed tomorrow.

Other centres including Lae, Goroka and Rabaul also had their power restored around the same time.
