PNG’S OLDEST NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL RECEIVE SUPERANNUATION LITERACY AWARENESS

The ‘Young Savers’ campaign, is NASFUND’s awareness campaign to promote and inform the public on the company’s Superannuation Fund.

NASFUND paid a visit to Sogeri National High recently to bring awareness to the students on its Young Savers’ Campaign.

General Manager for Marketing, Communications, and Research (MC&R), Mr. Turaho Morea lead the team on behalf of the CEO, Mr. Rajeev Sharma and spoke to over 200 Grade 11 students at the school.

Mr. Morea noted that Sogeri was the second school visited by NASFUND after its visit to St. Joseph’s International Catholic College earlier this year.

“As a Fund, we realize that most young people have little to no knowledge about superannuation and the importance of saving for retirement. Having in mind that these young people are the future generation of Papua New Guinea and will make up tomorrow’s workforce, we believe it is important that they know this basic knowledge whilst still in school.’’ he said.

General Manager for Marketing, Communications, and Research (MC&R), Mr. Turaho Morea shared similar sentiments stating that some of these students are potential future members of NASFUND when they venture into the private sector workforce five or six years from now.

A small presentation took place seeing Mr. Morea handing over a laptop to the representative of the School’s Student Representative Council.

School Principal, Mr. Teddy Ferea acknowledged NASFUND for conducting this awareness and for being a main sponsor during the school’s 54th graduation ceremony last month.

Both parties pledged to continue similar activities next year to promote superannuation literacy awareness to all students.

Schools interested in being part of the ‘Young Savers’ campaign in 2024 are encouraged to reach out to the marketing team by emailing marketing@nasfund.com.pg to schedule appointments for a visit.
