PNG’s Mosquitos Take Down Japan In International Cup

Following their departure last week for the International Cup in Melbourne, Australia, our PNG Mosquitos stung their opponents for their first win against Japan.

The young and inexperienced Mozzies toppled the Samurais to a smashing score line.

Remaining optimistic of their preparations with the unavailability of recent stars,   the young Mozzies side took on the Samurais at the Royal Park in Parksville, Melbourne.

Paving the scoring avalanche of the day, Amua Piraka found the posts in the opening minutes to put points on the board.

Brendon Gotuna managed to pick up two goals for the day to add on the Mozzies’ scoring spree against Japan.

Picking up 2 goals for game one, Paul Phillips also took out the specky of the day.

With the inclusion of Finland, Indonesia and Pakistan in this year’s tournament, our PNG Mozzies will face tougher competition against Tonga and South Africa.

They face India tomorrow in game two.
