The Port Moresby Corporate slow pitch softball competition saw top matches as the PNG Power softball team maintained their good run of form in the Corporate Slow Pitch Softball competition taking on a strong InterOil team.
Having beaten pool A leaders, Remington Raskals, in the previous week, the Power team were out to prove that that win was not a fluke and took the playoff match by the scruff of the neck, with strong batting.
Leading by ten home runs to four heading into the last innings, and with good batting finding space behind their opponents’ outfield, they were able to restrict InterOil to only one run with good outfield cover and strong base catching, contributing to their emphatic victory.
PNG Power eventually took the win with a comprehensive ten runs to five victory at the end of the final innings to maintain their late run of form heading into the finals.
