PNG Lewas Off To Colombo

The City Pharmacy PNG Lewas boarded the first leg, of their trip, to Colombo this afternoon.

The 14-woman team, accompanied by Coach, Rodney Maha, and Team Manager, Helen Mackindoe, will be transiting through Australia.

Among the squad are experienced players like Gold Coast based Norma Ovasuru, Captain Pauke Siaka, Kaia Arua, and Tanya Ruma.

After months of rigorous training, the Lewas have two agendas in mind going into this tournament; acquiring One Day International (ODI) Status and qualifying for the World Cup.

South Africa remains their biggest threat in this world Cup Qualifiers, as their last meet with the Lewas saw the PNG side hit the bottom hard.

Dinnierose Raiko graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts (Journalism) from Divine Word University in March 2016. She joined EMTV Sports in April 2016 covering Sports news and contributes content to and at times Co-host EMTV’s premier sports talk show ,'Sports Scene'.
