O’Neill confident of PNC taking lead and forming next Government after polls

Leader of Peoples National Congress and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is confident PNC will lead and form the next Government after polling.

O’Neill made this statement in Kavieng when supporting PNC candidate Martin Aini for the Kavieng Open seat.

The PNC leader also described recent comments by members of the Opposition to change Government policies as “hot air politics”.

Despite the recent politics with Opposition member and sitting Kavieng MP. Ben Micah, O’Neill says, candidate Aini will play a critical role in the next Government formed by PNC.

For Kavieng, O’Neill clarified that Kavieng District has received its share of K40 million in 2016 with an outstanding K10 million to be released. He maintained that National Government has done its part in sealing the Buluminski Highway including upgrade of the Airport.

Martin Aini has also contested in 2012 under PNC Party. O’Neill says if Aini is elected in this National Election, Kavieng people can expect more support and leadership from PNC.

He said the election of Martin Aini as the PNC Candidate for Kavieng Open is the only way the district can advance with a dedicated elected leader who is committed to the interests of the district and the country.
