Mt. Koiari receives funds from Member

The Mount Koiari Community and Seventh Day Adventist church today received donations from member for Kairuku Hiri, Peter Isoaimo, to help assist in fundraising as well as fulfill a commitment he made during his campaign in the area.

The cheques totaling almost sixty five thousand kina taken from the electorates DSIP funds were given to Deputy Chairman of the Mount Koiari SDA church for the church’s development as well as assist in fundraising for the churches centenary celebrations.

Members of the Mount Koiari SDA church and community where flown in from a chartered flight provided by the member with some walking through the Kokoda track to be at the presentation.

Mount Koiari is one of the remotest parts of the country that can be accessed by air or on foot however that did not stop community members to make their way to the Port Moresby to raise funds for the celebration of the SDA churches centenary celebration.

Deputy Chairman of Mount Koiari SDA church John Maul said he was happy that the member is actively taking part with the church and although a very unusual place for such an event the presentation would go a long way to helping the people.

The member said that money for the electorate was there for the people however proper procedures should be used to obtain the money and as the member for the Kairuku Hiri electorate he is willing to actively work together with the churches in the area for the development of his people.
