Locals to benefit from Orica’s new AMEX Plant

Locals from Papa and Lealea villages in the Kairiku-Hiri district will benefit from Orica’s new AMEX Plant, through royalty payments.

This follows the commissioning of Orica’s plant site in their area.

The site will be used to process explosives before they can be shipped to the mining sites in the country.

The plant is located about three kilometers away from the LNG site and was constructed after three years of dialogue with the locals.

It now provides over 40 employment opportunities for locals and is seen as an important investment for villagers in the Papa and Lealea area.
