AUSTRALIA AWARDS ALUMNI RECOGNISED IN MOROBE PROVINCE

Australia’s Consul-General in Lae, Brenton Kanowski has welcomed the announcement of the new Morobe Chapter Executive of the Papua New Guinea Australia Alumni Association.
The newly declared leadership team was revealed recently amidst recognition of the contribution of Australia Awards alumni across Morobe Province.
The new chapter leadership is headed by President Michelle Ososo (of Dulux Group), with Vice President Dr. Hilda Audobo also recognized for being named the 2025 Alumni of the Year.
Dr. Audobo is the Deputy Director of Public Health in the Morobe Provincial Health Authority.
Consul-General Kanowski said Australia Awards alumni were an important part of the long-standing partnership between Australia and Papua New Guinea.
“Alumni are leaders in their communities, workplaces and professions, and their contributions continue to strengthen the deep ties between our two countries,” Kanowski said.
“With applications now open for Australia Awards scholarships, we look forward to working with the Morobe Chapter to support the next generation of leaders.”
Ososo said the Morobe Chapter is committed to strengthening the alumni network and supporting development across the province.
“Our alumni community brings together talented professionals who are passionate about giving back,” Ososo said.
“Through the Morobe Chapter, we look forward to creating opportunities for collaboration, professional growth and service to our communities.”
The announcement highlighted the important role Australia Awards alumni play in strengthening professional networks, community engagement and development outcomes in Papua New Guinea.
