LLG Presidents Complete Training

Local Level Government Presidents must know their roles and responsibilities, and how the Government system operates.

This will help them to make informed decisions and properly plan and compile budgets for their LLGs.

Yesterday, thirteen LLG Presidents in Central province and their seven appointed members completed four days of training and induction at the March Girls Resort.

The training was facilitated by the Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs, and other line Government departments.

The training aims at improving the government system at LLG Levels and for each LLG and district to set minimum standards in meeting the country’s Vision 2050.

Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs Secretary, Munare Uyassi, said this minimum standard will include qualified human resource and proper infrastructure.

Mr Uyassi said the second phase of this training will build capacity for ward councillors.

Similar trainings will be carried out in other provinces as well.
