Lewas Lose to Bangladesh in World Cup Campaign

Having defeated Sri Lanka on Friday in their practice match, the Lewas lost to Bangladesh with only 97 runs in their World Cup campaign.

Batting first, the Bangladesh side’s top order were on par as accumulative runs were already at 97 by the time the last of the top order took the crease.

They eventually concluded the first inning at 215/6 after 50 overs.

The second inning saw the Lewas chasing a target of 216.

Players Brenda Tau, Tanya Ruma and Pauke Siaka led the chase.

A Ruma-Siaka partnership saw a promising raise on the score board, but it wasn’t long before Bangladesh Team’s Jahanara Alam, Panna Ghosh and Salma Khatun swiftly bowled them out at just an accumulative of 83 runs.

But chances of recuperating were slim when the Lewas middle order went in. They were all out soon after at just 97 after 32.1 overs.

Having lost to Thailand as well on Sunday, by 9 wickets, they will get another shot at recovery this Friday against Pakistan.
