Governor-elect for the Northern Province, Gary Juffa, is interested in forming the next government.
Mr Juffa said he wants to work with like-minded people like Sam Basil, Kerenga Kua and Dr Allan Marat.
Mr Juffa held his media conference in Port Moresby this morning (26/07/17).
The leader of the People’s Movement for Change party said his priority remains with the over 37,000 people of Northern Province. And any decision he makes will be in their best interest.
When asked, Mr Juffa said he is aligning himself with those elected leaders who not only talk the talk, but those who walk the talk as well.
Mr Juffa said his next focus is on restructuring the Oro Provincial Administration. He said modernising the public service machinery to bring about holistic change was vital.
It will give the public servants better wages and conditions and it will also hold them accountable under performance indicator contracts. He said it is a system that is needed for there to be progress.
He said a business arm has already been built to take ownership of all his provinces land and will regulate the licensing and permitting of the resource development sectors.
