The BSP Group General Manager- Retail Banking, Paul Thornton, has warned the general public that Bank South Pacific (BSP) has no cash prize promotion give-away currently.

Mr. Thornton’s warning comes as a result of increasing false text messages, calling people and claiming to be from the Bank.

When calling, the callers advise a  “winner” advising they have won cash prizes from BSP.

With the wider mobile phone use in the country, Mr. Thornton has advised the general public not to be fooled by such claims.

The general public is advised to be careful when receiving such text messages from unknown numbers and calls advising them that they have won cash prizes from BSP.

This also includes loan and requests for Personal Identity Numbers, or internet banking passwords.

Mr.Thornton said the bank will not request for such information, further urging the general public to be more careful.

Customers who plan on seeking loans at BSP should also be careful as the bank branches do not engage third parties to sell the bank’s loan products.

The customers are to consult the nearest bank, and seek loan assistance from the bank, and not to deal with third parties claiming to sell BSP loan products.
