Health Minister Not Aware of Court Order To Pay Former Cancer Specialist

The Lae district says there is a court order directing the Health Department to pay a former Angau Cancer specialist over K250,000 in entitlements.

In parliament today, the Lae MP, Loujaya Kouza, asked why the process of paying the former specialist is taking too long.

“Why haven’t we honoured the court order,” asks Kouza.

The Minister says he wasn’t aware of any court orders directing the Health department to pay any Specialist.

“If there is a court order in place, I am not aware of that, I shall immediately after this I will talk to my Health Secretary,” says Malabag.

There are three doctors expected to enter the country soon. The fate of cancer patients now rests on the Health Department and its bureaucracy.
