Harmony committed in its operations

Chairman of Harmony Gold Mining Patrice Motsepe, says Harmony is committed in its operations in Papua New Guinea.

His comments come after a visit to its mine sites in the Morobe Province by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill this week.

Mr.Motsepe said Harmony is confident of building partnership with the landowners, stakeholders and the government.

Harmony and its partner Newcrest Mining in Australia operate the Hidden Valley Gold Mine and Wafi Golpu project.

The Harmony chairman added the success of those involved in the projects depends on the success of the local people and the government.

During his visit, the Prime Minister re-affirmed his government’s support for the mining industry in PNG.
