Governor General signs road project deals in Central and Chimbu Province

The Gembogl road project leads to Mt. Wilhelm a tourist attraction will be constructed. After witnessing the signing of the contracts, Sitting  Kunidawa MP, Tobias Kulang says politics will not affect the projects after the elections.

Mt Wilhelm is a tourism destination, described by many as a sleeping giant.

The site gets over 6,000 international visitors per year.

Tobias Kulang attributed the importance of that road for the Chimbu tourism sector.

The Works department is giving itself a pat on the back for its continuous roll out of road projects.

Works secretary David Wereh said the partnership between the government and ADB worth K1 billion continues to improve roads and bridges across the country.

On Wednesday, at Government house, the Governor General, Bob Dadae put pen to paper allowing Dekenai Construction Company and the China Railway Company to construct two road sections.

The Asian Development Bank is funding the two multi-millio Kina projects in the Kundiawa-Gembogl district and the Hiritano Highway.
