Goroka Water System to be assessed

A team of experts will investigate the water supply system for Goroka town.

National Planning Minister, Richard Maru has allocated K257,000 for immediate assessments to be conducted.

Immediate action by the National Planning Minister has seen funds being allocated for critical assessments for the Goroka water supply system.

Last month, during question time in Parliament, Eastern Highlands Governor, Peter Numu raised the question on the Goroka water supply system.

Minister Maru said the National Government is concerned about the quality of water supply in Goroka Town…if it’s safe according to WHO standards.

The National Government has allocated K257,000 to Water PNG to conduct an immediate assessment.

Minister Maru says a subsequent remedial measure will be developed.
