Games Council Pleased with Preparation

The Pacific Games Council (PGC) is satisfied with the preparation of the 2015 Pacific Games, after touring the venues and games village.

PGC President, Vidhya Lakhan, and his executive board members were impressed with the planning and preparation demonstrated by the Games Organizing Committee.

“GOC are aiming to host a very successful Games and the PGC Executive Board is confident they can achieve it provided all stakeholders remain total focused on the delivery of the Games venues in a timely manner,” Lakhan said.

The board has noted that the timeframe for delivery of venues remains tight, but the GOC is managing this well to ensure all is in place in time for the games.

The board also had the opportunity to participate in the All Sport technical delegate meeting, and had an audience with the Sports and 2015 Pacific Games Minister Justin Tkatchenko.

The Minister has assured the board that the Games venues will be completed on time.

This was the first Council executive board meeting for the year, held in Port Moresby.
