Flights into Tari Suspended

Air Niugini is still holding the suspension of its flights into Tari, Hela Province.

This follows the earthquake in the Highlands Region early yesterday.

The announcement was made yesterday.

According to Link PNG General Manager, Bruce Alabaster, a Notice to Airmen had been issued by National Airports Corporation through PNG Air Services Ltd advising of the closure of Tari airport from today, until March 2nd.

Whilst regretting the inconvenience caused, Link PNG emphasises that safety is always of paramount importance in their operations.

Link PNG, a subsidiary company of Air Niugini Limited, operates four weekly flights to Tari every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Whilst flights into Tari have been suspended, flights into Mendi, Southern Highlands are operating as normal.
