Federation To Finalize Touch Team

The PNG Touch Federation is working around the clock to finalize a 14 men’s and women’s touch team for the 2015 Pacific Games.

With the recent successful Australia Tour, the Federation is up to have a strong side for the News soil campaign. The PNG Touch Federation were at the Port Moresby International School, supporting the School Touch grand Final playoffs.

 

The 2015 Pacific Games Mascot, Tura the Kokomo, was delighted to make its appearance to elated students and the touch teams. Tura was the centre of the fun as well as heightening team spirit among the touch teams, something everyone would like to see come the 2015 News soil campaign.  

 

The men’s open team that recently took part in the Australian Touch Championships, and is competing against the rest of the elite teams. 

 

Three important aspects were outlined, including promoting the game of touch to schools; and promoting the elite team, and the exhibition for the 2015 Pacific Games. A final 2015 Train on Squad is yet to be announced; however PNG Touch’s progression seems bright.  

 

There are upcoming international events, including Singapore and Australia Tours mid this year, to which PNG Touch Federation will be sending teams in different divisions.
