This episode of Farming PNG takes a close look at the oil palm industry in West New Britain, where major corporations such as New Britain Palm Oil and Hargi Oil Palms Limited have forged successful synergies with small holder farmers in what is perhaps one of the most important crops in Papua New Guinea.
Palm Oil is also at the base of the Bio-gas industry, which could potential replace all of the consumption of fossil fuels in West New Britain in a foreseeable future, turning PNG into a pioneer when it comes to renewable energy sources.
