Cricket PNG’s Hebou Shield 2017 Updates

The men’s three-day fixture between the Hammers and the Diggers saw Digger promise Tony Ura, giving the Hammers trouble right from the start with a century on Monday.

The Hammers are now chasing a target of 323 runs.

They took the bats late yesterday, after the Diggers bowed out of the first inning with 323 to their name after 80 overs.

The humidity did not stop the hammers from executing a brilliant chase.

Vani Vagi Morea, recorded 65 and Jason Kila another 40 for the Hammers.

With 323 runs target to chase, the Morea-Kila partnership set them well on their part to a productive chase.

Great bowling techniques from the Diggers were managed efficiently by the Hammers top order.

They went on to close Day 2 on 0/107 at stumps.

As of 5 o’clock this afternoon, with less than 18 overs to go, the Hammers are still battling to overcome the 323 runs target, set by the Diggers.
