Concerns of land titles in NCD

More concerns have been raised regarding sale of land in Port Moresby.

A concerned resident Steven Kilage said lands officers continue to exercise fraudulent deals within the Department.

Mr Kilage said those facing similar issues must expose such officers.

Mr Kilage told EMTV News, he has followed all procedures to apply and acquire the land however he alleged that officers from the Lands Department gave the title to another party.

The piece of land Mr Kilage is applying for is a land along the Koki Drive.  It has been 7 years for Mr Kilage who got approvals from PNG Power, Eda Ranu and other authorities in the city.

Mr Kilage has presented his case to Minister responsible Justin Tkatchenko.

In an off camera interview yesterday with Minister Tkatchenko, the Minister said the matter is serious and will be dealt with.

Meanwhile Minister Tkatchenko told EMTV News; over 60 cases have been reported to the new Land Fraud and Complaints Unit.  He said more is expected.
