CBC Holds Media Education Seminar for Students

By Annette Kora – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Since the introduction of the internet, technology has brought about mass production and the distribution of content.

Students from seven schools in NCD attended the first media education seminar highlighting the importance of the role of the media and ways on how they can utilize social media to bring about awareness for the community.

Coordinating the first seminar yesterday (23 February 2019), Fr Ambrose told participating students that the need to communicate a message that is relevant requires that they know and understand what the media is able to do.

With the aim to enable young creative minds to understand the media and contribute creatively to it, participating students from different schools gave a brief of how the seminar has helped to broaden their horizons on the role of media in the society.

The program is highly recommended for schools in NCD that would like to be part of the seminar in 2019; focusing mainly on mainstream media, writing news stories, photography, posters with a message as well as audio and visual basics.
