Basketballers Looking Sharp

The Port Moresby Basketball Team is ramping up its preparations for the PNG All Stars championships set for this weekend.

Lawrence Lahari of the PMBL Association said, with some of the best players in the country, there is no reason why the Port Moresby side, shouldn’t do well.

The Port Moresby Men’s Basketball team looked primed, as they began their first intensive session in preparation for the All Stars championships this weekend.

Under the guidance of coach Chris Worri, the side is ramping up its efforts to outperform their opposition.

A host of PNG international litter the side, and with the amount of quality in the squads, the PMBL has created two teams, with an option for a third.

Amidst election concerns, the championships are regardless set for the weekend, with unconfirmed reports that a total of 12 teams, taking part in the competition.

The All Stars concept is also an opportunity for players to make a push for the first-of-its-kind Melanesians championships set for September, which will feature New Caledonia, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
