Australian Awards Road Show Attracts Enga Workforce

A road show by the Australian Awards team was held recently in Wabag, Enga Province.

The road show was held at Wabag’s Taek Anda Museum. 

The event showcased opportunities for the Engan working class to do studies both in Australian and Papua New Guinea. The Australian Awards Road show attracted a good number of workers both from the public and private sector in Enga.

The awards aim to develop capacity and leadership skills so that Papua New Guineans can contribute to the development at provincial and national level and also build people-to-people linkages at the individual, institutional and country levels.

James Hall, Minister Counsellor from the Australian High Commission says key sectors, especially health are targeted and aligned with the the Papua New Guinean government’s development agendas.

Australian Awards PNG Facility Director, Steve Buckley says a range of sectors are featured, providing an opportunity for Enga’s working class.

Australia Awards is an important component of Australia’s investment in education in Papua New Guinea.
