AUSTRALIA FORGE PARTNERSHIP WITH ADVENTIST AVIATION SERVICES

Australia will now work closely with the Adventist Aviation Services through a partnership recently launched which will see them deliver life- saving health services to remote parts of Papua New Guinea.
This partnership was officiated at the Morobe Mission Adventist Hall in Lae attended by the Minister for Community Development, Youth and Religion, Jason Peter, President of the PNG Union Mission, Pastor Danny Philip; and Chief Executive Officer of AAS, Captain Mark Neah, and representatives from the Australian High Commission.
Captain Mark Neah, Chief Executive Officer for AAS said the partnership is about ensuring that services reach those most in need.
“Australia’s support is helping us keep our planes in the air to reach the most remote communities that rely on our services. This will be the start of a long- term community building partnership effort,” he said.
Australia is proud to support Adventist Aviation Services and the vital role it plays in saving lives and connecting remote communities.
For many communities in Papua New Guinea, aviation is the only way to access basic services. AAS plays a critical role in connecting these communities, providing medical evacuating flights, as well as delivering essential supplies like building materials for schools, clinics and churches.
Despite ongoing challenges in the aviation sector, including high fuel costs and difficult operating conditions, AAS continues to serve remote areas and remains committed to supporting communities.
With Australian Government support, AAS will strengthen its operations, including improving fuel access, supporting essential staff, and maintaining remote airstrips so flights can continue safely and reliably.
Through the PNG–Australia Partnership, Australia remains committed to ensuring that all Papua New Guineans can access essential services, no matter where they live.
AAS is a not-for-profit organisation affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Papua New Guinea and has been operating for more than 60 years, supporting communities through aviation services.
