Ablution Refurbished

Refurbishment for the boys’ ablution blocks at the Gaulim Teachers College in East New Britain has been completed, and is now ready to be used.

The renovation commenced last year at the cost of K150, 000.

Renovations for the girls’ ablution and laundry blocks are still under construction.

The college offers diploma courses for two years. Students here are trained in the four core subjects Language, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.

Agriculture is also an important extra curriculum subject, and sustains the college’s food supply.

With the recent installation of 12 new tanks, the students can easily access water from these ablution blocks.

The renovated block now has tiles on its floors, over 20 septic toilets, and 10 shower rooms.

The roofs have also been changed, and the walls are painted.

The boys’ laundry area is now ready to use.

The girls’ ablution and laundry blocks are still being constructed and for the first time in 10 years, it will have sinks.

The full refurbishment for the girls’ ablution and laundry areas is expected to be completed come July.

The college has also installed a second hand generator to supply power to the student dormitories.
