The Northern provincial government, through Governor Gary Juffa, will launch a full-scale investigation into incomplete infrastructure works in the province.
Governor Juffa said they will set up a project review committee comprising of lawyers and other elites to investigate where and how public monies have been spent.
The process is part of cleaning up the province, which has been known for incomplete projects.
Governor Juffa again reassured his people that the vote of no confidence in him is only a scam to divert his attention from uncovering illegal operations, business deals and corruption in the province.
After seeking legal advice, Governor Juffa maintains that the vote of no confidence is illegal.
Some of the incomplete projects include the Popondetta market project, where K2 million was released but the market has not yet been completed.
Another stagnant project is MV Ijivitari, docked at Oro Bay, where K5 million was allocated.
Juffa says this infrastructure will be scrutinised by the project review team.
Since taking office, Governor Juffa has made some progress to clean up the mess in the province. However, in recent weeks, council presidents, led by Ijivitari MP David Arore, have not seen eye to eye.
They are pushing for a vote of no confidence because of Governor Juffa’s style of leadership. They described it as a dictator running the province.
This faction, proposed to have a special meeting at the end of the month to move the vote of no confidence motion, has been put off by the Governor who is also Chairman of the Northern Province Assembly.
