One of PNG’s leading infertility specialists and herbal practitioners says infertility in partners is a contributing factor to the spread of HIV aids.
Dr Andrew Bareng revealed that infertility has driven many couples to enter into adulterous relationships, thus catching the virus.
Dr Bareng has close to 100 percent rate of healing couples with infertility problems.
Dr Albert Bareng is the country’s only registered herbal practitioner. He graduated with an associate degree in herbal medicine from the Southern Cross University in Australia.
He specialises in Primary and secondary infertility, dealing with herbal Medicine.
He revealed that infertility is a major cause of the spread of HIV.
He uses scientific herbs from South America, and local herbs like onion and garlic, to counter the problem of infertility.
He gives himself an 80 percent success rate. His clinic is located in Lae in the Morobe Province.
He is a true believer of herbal medicine as a means to prevent existing illnesse from becoming worse. He is adamant that a regulatory framework to govern the retail of herbal remedies must be fast tracked.
A National policy on Traditional Medicine was launched in 2008, but work on the policy goes back to 1999.
