Porebada, Central Province — Porebada Primary School concluded its 70th Platinum Jubilee Anniversary celebrations today with cultural performances and the launch of new school infrastructure.
Day 3 of the celebrations began with the Tura Band of Porebada Village performing for students, former pupils and guests. The program also featured local music hits from Gulf, Madang, Tolai and Simbu provinces.
Former students from different eras, spanning 1956 to 2026, took part in cultural presentations to mark the school’s 70-year history.
The Central Provincial Government officially launched the Porebada Primary School SLIP Program during the event.
The Hiri-SPA and Hiri-Koiari District also presented a new school bus to the school.
School organisers thanked dignitaries, invited guests and former PPS students for attending Day 2 of the celebrations yesterday.
The three-day jubilee brought together the Porebada community to reflect on 70 years of education and look ahead to the school’s future.
