SHOWCASING PAPUA NEW GUINEA THROUGH THE LENS

The ExxonMobil Focus Exhibition Tour was launched in Lae this week, bringing a free public photography exhibition that celebrates the beauty, diversity and spirit of Papua New Guinea through powerful visual storytelling.

Hosted at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Unitech), the exhibition has begun its nationwide tour starting in Morobe Province before travelling to selected locations across the country. The Exhibition is open daily from the 15th right through to the 26th of June from 9am-5pm.

Confirmed through a statement, this Exhibition is open to the public from 15th-26th June 2026, the exhibition will feature an inspiring collection of images by renowned photographers Rocky Roe and Dinah Halstead. Their work captures Papua New Guinea’s extraordinary landscapes, vibrant cultures, diverse communities and unique marine environments.

The exhibition presents a striking combination of on-land and underwater photography, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience the country’s natural and cultural heritage through compelling visual narratives. From remote mountain communities and village life to the rich biodiversity found beneath Papua New Guinea’s waters.

The ExxonMobil Focus Exhibition Tour aims to make photography accessible to communities around the country while highlighting its role as a powerful tool for storytelling, cultural preservation and artistic expression.

Schools, community groups, photography enthusiasts, families and members of the public are encouraged to attend and engage with the exhibition’s diverse collection of images.
