The Minamb Valley Peace and Security Foundation was officially launched by Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas at Unda Primary School on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Minamb Valley, Wapenamanda District. During the event, he allocated infrastructure grants to support the delivery of education and health services in the area.

Governor Sir Peter expressed his gratitude to the people for taking the initiative to promote peace and development.

“What is peace? Peace is within you, and it is everyone’s responsibility to make it happen. Today, it gives me great pride to see this community initiative become a reality,” he said.

Sir Peter also officiated the launch of the 5-Year Development Plan, developed by Minamb Valley leaders, led by prominent businessman Chief Andrew Andup and representatives from the nine council wards.

The plan was officially handed over to the Enga Provincial Government and received by Sir Peter, who pledged government support for several community-based initiatives.

“Since you have taken the lead, the government will partner with you. What has been done here is an example other LLGs and districts can follow,” he said.

He also announced the establishment of a new junior high school in Minamb Valley, committed K50,000 each to five primary schools, and donated a new ambulance to Unda Health Centre.
