Police in Lae made about a hundred arrests over the show weekend.
Many were brought in for minor offences such as stone throwing, pickpocketing and illegal gambling.
Those who committed more serious offences such as drug possession and assault are being held for questioning.
More than 300 police personnel were deployed over the weekend.
