The launching of the first Adventist Radio Network in PNG – Hope FM 107.5, was officiated by the head of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in South Pacific, Pastor Glenn Townend

A radio test was done during the launching on Thursday by Pastor Townend and the President for PNG Union Mission of the SDA Church, Pastor Kepsie Elodo.

It was broadcasted live in Lae and Port Moresby.

In 2011, the PNG Union Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist decided to establish a Radio and Television Network.

Pastor Andrew Opis is the man who initiated the project. He said the SDA Mission chose radio in order to reach the wider community.

The studio is located at the PNG Union Mission SDA Church Headquarters in Lae.

The PNG SDA Mission will soon engage in television.

The Adventist Hope FM will be broadcasting nation-wide on 107.5 FM.
