PNG Musicians Unite to Host Music Concert for Earthquake Victims

16 PNG Artists and Musicians have come together to host a Music Concert on the 7th of April to raise funds for the Earthquake-affected victims of Southern Highlands and Hela Provinces.

Lead Singer of Wame Blood, Johnny Yawari, who was on the ground a few weeks ago in Kutubu, says, the concert is to raise funds to help with relief supplies and assist victims restore their lives.

The concert will be a gesture of gratitude to the artists’ fans in Southern Highlands and Hela who have been badly affected by the recent earthquake that displaced many families.

The artists are targeting K50,000 to be collected from the concert and support from private businesses such as Heli Solutions, Oceanic, Epwens, and others.

On the night of the concert, two boxes will be placed at the door of the entrance for people to drop their donations both in cash and kind. Tickets will be on sale for K50 and K60 at the gate.

All proceeding will be presented through the media to respective Hela and Southern Highlands Provincial administrations who are coordinating the disaster relief and restoration on the ground.

The artists, after the concert, will also be flown over to the affected provinces by Heli Solutions, to physically give a hand in the relief and restoration process and also to donate basic essential items.
