Hebou PNG Barramundis captain, Assad Vala, is preparing for the biggest tournament of his career. Vala will be leading the Barramundis in the Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.
Assad Vala has played an integral role in the team’s success over the years, having being one of the best bowlers for the Barramundis.
He has a daunting task ahead of leading the team to take part in the World Cup Qualifiers. The International Cricket Council has changed the qualifying format for the upcoming World Cup.
They have reduced the number of teams to only 10, with the top 8 countries already qualified.
With only 2 spots up for grabs, the Barramundis will be taking on 8 other teams to qualify to the World Cup.
Qualifying to the World Cup will be difficult, but the team has shown positive signs and are in Brisbane Australia continuing their preparations. The World Cup qualifiers will be held in Zimbabwe form the 4th of March to the 4th of April were two lucky teams will qualify for the Cricket World Cup next year.
