ExxonMobil PNG, operator of the PNG LNG project has suspended non-essential work at its Hides, Angore and Komo operations in Hela Province.
In response to queries from EMTV regarding the current situation at the project’s upstream project areas following recent tension within local communities, a spokesperson from ExxonMobil has confirmed that the Hides Gas Conditioning Plant is continuing to operate.
However, as the safety and security of its employees, contractors and the local community is a priority, non-essential personnel have been deployed to other areas.
ExxonMobil PNG said it continues to monitor the situation in Hela Province.
