PNG Kapuls Are No Underdogs

The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Stage 3 World Cup Qualifiers will be played tomorrow in Port Moresby.

The Papua New Guinea Kapuls will not be taken lightly by Solomon Islands in tomorrow’s match.

Coming off a tough 3-2 win in Honiara last week, Bonnitos Skipper Henry Fa’arado said they will be taking the field as equals.

For years, Solomon Islands have always been at the forefront of quality football, compared to PNG.

In the last year or two, that has not been the case, with PNG proven capable of playing well at regional level, and bringing home results.

The PNG Men’s National Football team demonstrated prowess when they went all the way to the OFC Stage 2 Grand final last year, and faced New Zealand.

They then beat the Bonnitos twice, losing one of their 3 matches.

After the Kapuls gave them a run for their money and losing by a point last week, the Solomon Islanders now respect the Kapuls as their equals.

While SI would need a draw or a point to go on to the Regional Qualifiers against NZ, the Kapuls will need to win by at least by five points.

Kapuls Skipper, Michael Foster said the team is ready.

While Kapuls Coach Flemming Serritslev said a 5-goal win is possible.
