The Hebou PNG U19 Garamuts played their Australian Tour Opener match on Sunday, down by 60 runs to the Sunshine Coast Youth’s 14.
With home ground advantage, team Sunshine Coast batted first and secured 8 for 208 runs in their allotted 50 overs.
In the second inning, the Garamuts’ hasty chase ended just as quickly, with just 148 runs after 40 overs.
They will take on the home side again this Thursday, before they meet the South Queensland U18 and North Queensland U18 in Brisbane.
Hopefully the Garamuts come back stronger on Thursday.
