Despite the country’s economic challenges, the public service machinery endured and achieved results.

Personnel Management Department Secretary, John Kali says that 2016 was a tough year because of the cash flow issues that hit the country.

But through the collective efforts of public servants, results were achieved over time.

He thanked all central agencies and departments for delivering outcomes.

“Over the last 12 months, particularly 6 months of this year, were most difficult, because that’s when the cash flow really tightened up,

“I want to give credit to the resilience of all public servants throughout the country, that during these tough times we have been able to manage within our resources, and we have not received any complaints,

“So I want to thank all of you public servants, for a wonderful 2016, during which we achieved a great deal,”

2017 is another year, and public servants are expected to deliver more, reflecting on this year’s challenges and make adjustments.

“Go for the better. We come up with a breath of fresh air, in 2017, because the experiences we have, will give up us the opportunity to move on. All departmental heads, will be encouraged during the Leaders’ Summit on February next year,”
